# General AI Work Prompts

Use the companion Five Stages of Prompting guide in this folder. These templates follow **Role → Task → Context → Constraints → Format**.

Use these with an account and tool approved for the information involved. Replace bracketed fields. Use fictional or de-identified material when practicing. Check every result before using it.

## 1. Make a clear request

```text
Role: Act as a careful assistant for [type of work and intended audience].
Task: [One specific action and outcome].
Context: [Only the relevant facts and source material I can share in this tool].
Constraints: Do not invent facts, names, dates, numbers, or policy. Mark missing information [VERIFY]. End with what a person should check.
Format: [Deliverable shape, headings or columns, and useful length].
```

## 2. Meeting notes to decisions and owners

```text
Using only the notes below, list decisions actually made, action items with named owners and due dates if stated, and open questions. Mark any missing owner UNASSIGNED. Do not turn a suggestion into a decision. Keep personal details out of the summary.
[Paste approved, appropriately redacted meeting notes]
```

## 3. Find patterns in an approved data export

```text
Profile the attached [approved, de-identified export]: rows, fields, date range, gaps, and duplicate records. Calculate counts and trends from the actual rows. Explain the two or three most useful patterns in plain language, show the calculations, and finish with data limits and decisions a person must review. Do not estimate a statistic or include identifiable row details.
```

## 4. Draft a repeatable process

```text
Turn these approved notes about [routine task] into a one-page process. Include trigger, inputs, steps, decision points, owner, output, and what to verify. Separate facts in the notes from assumptions. Ask for missing critical steps instead of inventing them.
[Paste approved notes]
```

## 5. Check a draft against a provided rule

```text
Compare this draft with the approved policy or checklist pasted below. Quote the specific supplied rule that supports each issue you flag. Separate clear conflicts from questions needing a human decision. Do not claim legal or policy approval.
[Paste approved rule and draft, only in an authorized tool]
```
